Keith Douglas Sweat is an American singer and songwriter, record producer, actor, radio personality and an early figure in the new Jack swing musical movement.

Douglas began his musical career as a member of Harlem band called Jamilah in 1975. Sweat was able to shine his craft as a lead singer by performing regionally throughout the tri-state area of New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut. He got a chance to record for stadium level while performing in a nightclub after he left the Jamilah group in 1984 to begin a solo career.

By November 24, 1987 sweat released his debut solo studio album “Make It Last Forever” which sold over 3 million copies.

In 1994 and 1996 he released his fourth and fifth album titled “Get Up On It” and both albums got to reach the top ten on the billboard 200. He released his sixth album title still in the game which was released in 1998.

By August 2000, Keith released his eighth album titled rebirth. Since 2007 Sweat has been the host of a radio program that is based upon the quiet storm format. He earned most of his fortune as a singer and songwriter although he earned money as an actor and record producer.
