Online surveys the RedC Live
I signed up to the survey site redclive.ie on the 20th of August 2013. I signed up with the preconceived idea that the site would have numerous surveys available once you login and you could work away doing surveys in your spare time and perhaps make money fast. The site paid 1 Euro per 5 minutes, I could make 12 Euro an hour, that is way above minimum wage! I could make money fast. Brilliant! How wrong was I? So wrong it was off the scale!
The RedC are a marketing research company based in Ireland. They are a well known firm who are best known for their government opinion polls that are published monthly in the Sunday Business Post. They are prominent around election time and provide predictions of election outcomes after surveying a random sample across the country.
How does The RedC Live work?
Firstly is the sign up to the site. Upon completion, the firm send out a survey based on finding out your details on which surveys they can send to you by email. The survey is detailed, which asks you about your date of birth to what newspaper you read, and everything in between. Once that is done it becomes a waiting game from then on in.
The surveys are sent to your email account. When you receive them it is essential that you click on them once they enter your inbox as each survey can fill up fast. In survey research, random sampling is the most widely used methodology. In random sampling, a certain amount of people from a few different areas are selected. Other refinements can also be used such as certain age groups, parents, single parents, students, etc. can be selected and the RedC use these various techniques as to produce reliable research. This puts those who sign up at a disadvantage since you may have caught the survey as it entered your email only to find out you are then not eligible.
Each survey that is sent to your email from the RedC has a price on it so you know how much you will earn. They come in 1, 2, and 3 Euro pricing. From personal experience, the maximum number of emails that the RedC send is three surveys per week. The maximum amount of money you can earn from the RedC per week is 7 Euro if you are lucky.
Final Thoughts on The RedC Live
To be quite frank it is rubbish. Unless your a parent who has been at university, drinks every type of alcoholic drink, reads every single newspaper, has six kids or more between the ages of 18 to 4 months, chances are you will not receive that many surveys per week. You must be behind a laptop every day to be able to be the first in line for these surveys or they will fill up to quickly. Cashing out at 50 Euro will seem a life time away. From August 20th to 4th September I received surveys amounting to 14 Euro, none of which I was able to complete as I either missed them or I was ineligible. As of now I have hit the ‘unsubscribe’ button on the redclive.ie site. If I had completed a number of surveys I would have had to forfeit them which is another rip off. Luckily for me then, that I did not earn a single cent with that site.
I give the site 3/10 because you can make money if you meet the criteria that I have mentioned above but you wont make money fast. If you love surveys and you love waiting, then this is the perfect way for you to make a small sum of money.
